Public Preceptor Maitreyi
Kia Almegard becomes Vimaladhi, a Sanskrit name meaning ‘She whose Wisdom is Pure’ (long final ‘i’). 
Westernised spelling: Vimaladhi
Private preceptor: Sridevi
Bente Kjønstad becomes Muditadevi, a Sanskrit name meaning ‘Goddess of sympathetic joy’ (long final ‘i’).

Buddhist Action Month 2015 begins

Buddhist Action Month 2015 begins today - a festival of Buddhist-inspired social action. Triratna Buddhists are taking part in groups and centres all over the UK, as well as in our sanghas in Paris, New Hampshire, Dublin, Essen and at Eco Dharma in Spain.

Meanwhile Buddhists in other traditions are also involved in various ways, from the Amida Trust (Pure Land) and from SGI-UK.

This year’s themes for Triratna BAM are:

  • Sustainability
  • Awakening our money sense
  • Caring for others
