Ten of us went to Inverness airport on 10th October 2016 and welcomed Vanavasin back from his ordination retreat at Guhyaloka with three 'sadhus!'

This is a three week course which will take place on Sunday afternoons - good for people who don't have a free evening in the week.
It will start on Sunday 31st May, 1.30 - 5.00pm. There'll be three talks over the three weeks, with time for discussion, a tea break, an introduction to meditation and a meditation session.

There are two six-week courses aimed at complete beginners to be held at Triratna Highlands Buddhist Centre, Ballantyne House, Academy Street, Inverness. This will give an introduction to the two basic meditation practices of the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana (development of positive emotion), along with an introduction to fundamental Buddhist teachings. - One course will start on: Tuesday 25th March 2014 at 6:30pm to 8:30pm and the second Thursday, 27th March at 5:30pm to 7:00pm. We've got a centre in Inverness. Inumerable hassles with the property company and its minions that we're renting from, but hey, who said it was going to be easy? If they did they were wrong.....
Last August we had Belladrum festival - small (15,000) music festival 15 miles from Inverness. We've been there for 7 of the 10 years it's been running.
The first year we tried to get all the different buddhist groups around Inverness to join us - it ended up with us and Sokka Gakkai. They chanted, we taught meditation. We were between the beer tent and the toilets and in line with the speakers on the main stage.
This year a herd of 'cows' mooditated round the yurt at the end.

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2013 - we had our marquee and yurt in the Heilan' Fields, where we taught meditation, chatted to passers by, spread the word about the new Centre in Inverness and even sold a few books! The weather held out, lots of folk were interested, everyone who meditated enjoyed it and sangha members got to know eachother better over plenty of tea and cake :-)

Beginning 17th April - 8:00pm to 9.30 every other week until 7th August (apart from 29th May), Animisha will be leading an 8-session course on mindfulness meditation based on Maitreyabandhu's book "Life with Full Attention" in the Community Room of An Lanntair Arts Centre in Stornoway.
