Manidha and Alice - Poems on Metta

By Manidha on Wed, 6 Nov, 2013 - 19:21Manidha and Alice here from Seattle in the U.S. sharing a collection of poems we feel inspired by when we think about metta and its central importance for the life of the heart. Drawing on different religious and spiritual traditions the poems bring out some of the qualities of metta and of a person turning their effort towards cultivating loving kindness in their life.

Holidays, Poems, Shrines and Sangha Night

By padmatara on Wed, 2 Oct, 2013 - 16:09Dear Friends,

I already felt lucky to be in this community during the ups and downs of the last year or so, and now some very generous friends have given me a holiday in Kauai - leaving tomorrow, back next Tuesday. I can’t tell you how great it feels to be looking forward to something like this.

I wanted to make sure you all have the poems from Suvarnaprabha’s funeral - so I’ve copied them below.

Two Videos From Suvarnaprabha's Funeral

By Dayamudra on Mon, 30 Sep, 2013 - 21:17
Two video fragments from the funeral. Raymond Carver’s ‘Late Fragment’ read by Padmatara and the final sadhus. The sound on the poem is quite hard to make out, here are the words:

Late Fragment
And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.

Triratna America - A Life In Lubec (eBook)
