It’s Akashamitra here from Karuna. I’m a programme manager, and as such work very closely with some of the projects Karuna funds. I’ve been working with ITBCI school for the last 4 years, regularly visiting them in Kalimpong, and supporting the school with their work.  As many of you will know, Bhante’s main teacher Dhardo Rinpoche founded the school in 1954 to support some of the poorest children in India, many of whom had recently come over the border...

The pupils at the ITBCI school in Kalimpong, northern India, recite mantras for Bhante, led by the headmaster, Jampel Khalden. The school was founded for Tibetan refugee children by Bhante’s teacher, the late Dhardo Rinpoche.

(Bhante was buried with his head resting on Dhardo Rinpoche’s yellow monastic robe.)

Normally a door-to-door fundraiser for Triratna development charity Karuna Trust, raising money to work among India’s poorest people, Priyadaka writes with news of a video project involving the headmaster of Dhardo Rinpoche’s school for children of Tibetan refugee families.

Jag har nu börjat skicka pengarna via Nordeas utlandsbetalningar direkt till skolans bankkonto, på så vis spar vi lite i admin, och det funkade den andra gången (mitt fel den första). Samtidigt passade jag på att skicka ett foto på de nya mitrorna i Sthlm och fick ett fint svar från Jampel:
