Après plusieurs collectes de fonds et un travail acharné de la part de nombreuses personnes, et en particulier de Vassika, le nouveau Centre bouddhiste Triratna de Paris a été officiellement inauguré en novembre. Ce fut un événement véritablement international, avec des participants venus de France, des Pays-Bas, de Belgique, d'Allemagne et du Royaume-Uni, et incluant aussi des cartes postales de vœux en provenance de la Communauté bouddhiste Triratna du monde entier.

After a lot of fundraising and hard work by many, and especially by Vassika, the new Paris Buddhist Centre was officially inaugurated in November. It was a truly international event with people attending the ceremony from France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and the UK – but also incorporating well-wishing postcards from right across the Triratna world.

I visited the Centre yesterday and already walls had disappeared and there was rubble everywhere! It's very exciting to see the space changing shape.

Now I'm busy thinking about floors, kitchen units, paints and lighting...

I'm delighted to say that we have managed to pass the half-way mark with our fundraising, which is very encouraging, but we still need help to reach our target.

J'ai visité le Centre hier et il y avait déjà des murs détruits et du débris partout ! C'est très inspirant de voir l'espace évoluer.

Maintenant je suis préoccupée des sols, des éléments de cuisine, des peintures et des luminaires...

Je me réjouis du fait que nous avons récolté plus que la moité des fonds nécessaires pour les travaux, ce sui est très encourageant, mais nous aurons besoin de l'aide encore pour aller jusqu'au bout.

Here in Paris, spring has arrived and we are preparing for a move into a new Buddhist Centre.

We have found a lovely light spacious place in a peaceful part of Paris, around the corner from a beautiful park. In six weeks, the purchase will be complete and building work will start to transform it from a doctors’ surgery into a Buddhist Centre, which we hope to open in September.

We have managed to raise enough money to cover the purchase and a large part of the building work, but to be sure of having everything we need, including fittings and furniture we need to find another 50,000€.

It sounds a lot doesn’t it? But it really is worth it as it will allow us to have a beautiful Buddhist Centre in Paris in which our current Sangha can flourish and to which we can welcome many new people. It is the beginning of a new era.

Ici à Paris, le printemps est arrivé et nous nous préparons à nous installer dans un nouveau Centre bouddhiste.

Nous avons trouvé un beau local lumineux et spacieux dans un quartier calme et à deux pas d’un joli parc. Dans six semaines, nous aurons les clefs et les travaux commenceront pour transformer un cabinet médical en Centre bouddhiste. Nous espérons pouvoir l’ouvrir en septembre.

Nous avons réussi à lever assez d’argent pour couvrir l’achat et une grande partie des travaux, mais pour être sûr d’avoir tout ce dont nous aurons besoin, y compris les meubles, nous aurons besoin d’environ 50 000 € supplémentaires.

Cela semble énorme, n’est-ce pas ? Mais cela vaut vraiment le coup car cela nous permettra d’avoir un beau Centre bouddhiste à Paris dans lequel notre Sangha pourra épanouir et où nous pourrons accueillir maintes nouvelles personnes. C’est le début d’une nouvelle ère.
