Sangharakshita’s Poetry (Dharmabytes Podcast)

From Free Buddhist Audio on Tue, 26 Aug, 2025 - 10:52

Vishvapani has been studying, reflecting upon, and living out the Dharma life as presented by Urgyen Sangharakshita, Triratna’s founding teacher, for over 40 years. To mark the fourth anniversary of “Bhante” Sangharakshita’s death in 2018, this new audio essay delves deep into the heart of what Vishvapani calls a “unique and strange” intuitive approach to Buddhism that, at its best, seems to capture and vibrate with the essential vital energy of the universe. Excerpted from the essay...

From Windhorse Publications on Mon, 25 Aug, 2025 - 10:18

With The Complete Works of Sangharakshita being rounded off with the publication of its Concordance at the end of 2024, Vishvapani’s
Reimagining Buddhism seems like the icing on the cake. It is a beautiful book, meticulously researched, and sensitively written for both those who knew Sangharakshita well and others who have only recently come across his name, or have yet to discover the joys of Triratna.

Vishvapani (Blomfield) is the editor of Challenging Times: Stories of Buddhist Practice When Things...

Let's Talk About Sex

From Sheffield Buddhist Centre on Wed, 20 Aug, 2025 - 00:00
Join Sanghagita as she will explore the challenge of leading a life of stillness, simplicity and contentment in a society of rampant consumption fuelled by, and itself fuelling, discontentment. How should we behave? What is ‘Right’ and ‘Wrong’? And does that even matter anyway? In the 1960s, Sangharakshita and other early Western Buddhists asked questions like these. They critiqued society’s views about ‘good’ and ‘bad’ behaviour in the light of The Buddha’s teachings on ethics and karma from 2,500 years earlier in ancient India. However, the world we live in now is very different again from when Sangharakshita gave his lectures on ethics. So what are the current ethical issues that we need to think about as practicing Buddhists in our time, in our society?
