In celebration of Parinirvana day Devamitra recounts his favourite stories about the Buddha.

In this wide-ranging talk, Dharmasri continues our exploration of The Journey and The Guide by introducing the concept of spiritual death. Dharmasri asks us to consider the need for spiritual death as we grow towards Enlightenment, but reminds us of the need to be working from a base of integration and positive emotion before we explore this. We need to be a healthy, happy, human being before we have the resources to approach this topic in depth. This talk was given at Croydon Buddhist Centre on 20th February 2016 as part of the regular Saturday Morning Sangha class.

The story of Kisagotami; how her grief for her child changed through compassion and insight leading to a life of spiritual commitment and renunciation.

For Parinirvana Day in 2016, various Sangha members were asked to talk about what the Buddha was like, from the point of view of one of his disciples. In this recording you will hear short talks from Jane as Ananda, Amaraghosha as Subhaddha, Amarapuspa as Dhammadinna, Vajragupta as Kisa Gotami and Sucimani as Aniruddha.
