Dear Friends,

I am very sad to inform you that Dhammacharini Prajnamata passed away on Thursday 10th August around 4.30am at a care home in Pune.

Prajnamata was 89 years old.  She was ordained in 1994 at Bhaja, India. Her Public and Private Preceptor is Srimala. Her name was chosen by Bhante and means ‘the mother of transcendental wisdom’.  Her sadhana at ordination was Avalokiteshvara.
