Mahabodhi explores the meaning of the Sanskrit term samjna or sanna in Pali. Often translated as perception, but more accurately apperception, it performs a pivotal role in meditation practice. By bringing mindfulness to our samjna in the Metta Bhavana, the mindfulness of breathing and in insight practice, we effect the required transformation of our view. Mahabodhi also covers the dhyanas, views in general, right view and unenlightened tendencies called asravas.
Talk given at Manchester Buddhist Centre's Triratna Nigh on 20th November 2017.

For this year’s Buddhist Action Month, I’m looking for volunteers to join me for our telephone appeal, based in the Karuna office in North London.

Ratnaprabha runs a thriving study group for men mitras, there’s a weekend retreat every year, and other mitra events. There is a lot of scope for Sangha building, befriending, and sharing the Dharma in creative ways. The actual mitra convening work...

Though we have had some terribly cold and snowy days there have also been some sunny ones, and when bright and dry if maybe not so warm, Bhante has taken what opportunities he could and enjoyed a morning walk...

Satyalila writes: “This year we’ll present extracts from these voices and the recordings will be archived in their entirety. In future we hope that many of them can be released as full-length...
