Life As a Wind Turbine.

From Croydon Buddhist Centre on Sat, 26 May, 2018 - 00:00
In this talk, introduced by Amarapuspa, Jane shares the experience of developing severe physical pain, suddenly, and how this has affected her life. Jane discusses her habitual responses to pain before meeting Buddhism and how these responses changed when she discovered Buddhism. We explore how Jane needed a complete rethink after discovering the teaching of the worldly winds, and how inspiring this process has been. This talk was given at the Croydon Buddhist Centre as part of the regular Saturday Sangha class. There are some mechanical clicks on the recording.

Worldly Winds - Praise and Blame

From Croydon Buddhist Centre on Fri, 25 May, 2018 - 00:00
In this talk Viryanaga leads us through an exploration of praise and blame. He uses examples from the suttas, and from his own experience, to show how these worldly winds are usually related to actions. Viryanaga discusses how it is not enough simply to resist the winds, but how we need to transform them. The session ends with a led reflection. This talk was given at the Croydon Buddhist Centre as part of our regular Saturday Sangha morning.
