Triratna’s European Chairs’ Assembly (ECA) and their guests have been meeting at Adhisthana since last Monday. They have spent the week creatively and very harmoniously, considering a number of matters to do with the future flourishing of Triratna.
Today we heard about the forthcoming publication of the first volume of Sangharakshita’s Complete Works – in English. Considering that just 5% of the world’s 70 million people are native English-speakers, we also heard of the work of the new, funded, Triratna Translations Board. We reviewed the excellent work of The Buddhist Centre Online - for example its new mitra study microsite.
Earlier in the week we considered draft model ethical guidelines for Triratna Order members and centres around the world and Triratna's recently updated ‘Safeguarding’ documents for protecting children and vulnerable adults 2016.
Other topics have included
- the work of Triratna's Preceptors’ College and International Council.
- spiritual leadership and management as aspects of the culture of Triratna centres
- how and what we teach
- our own practice as Order members
- the Young Buddhist project and
- the FutureDharma fundraising project
Mokshini and I are reporting from the meeting, as members of the Development Team employed by the ECA.
