Last Friday, seven of the nine core members of the ‘Fellowship of the Book’ assembled at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre. Our quest: to bring The Complete Works of Sangharakshita into existence. In keeping with The Lord of the Rings reference, our motto for the day was:

One book to be read by all
One book to find them
One book to bring them all
And in the light to mind them

The first published volume of The Complete Works of Sangharakshita, Volume 9: Dr Ambedkar and the Revival of Buddhism I, has been launched. This volume has been released in time for celebrations around Friday 14th October, 2016, which marks the 60th anniversary of the conversion of Dr Ambedkar to Buddhism.

We at Windhorse Publications have just published the very first of the 27 volumes that will comprise The Complete Works of Sangharakshita; a momentous step in our project of gathering together this great teacher’s output including Dharma teachings of many kinds, commentaries, memoirs, poetry and more. This first volume, volume 9 in the series, is entitled, Dr Ambedkar and the Revival of Buddhism I. It includes Sangharakshita’s Ambedkar and Buddhism, which has been out-of-print for some time, along with 36 talks given in India...

In the summer of 2015 Triratna people worldwide raised well over £100,000 for Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday, for the publication of his Complete Works, in hardback, softback and digital format. As Triratna publishers Windhorse Publications report, this mammoth project, anticipated to end in 2021, is well under way: the first volume will appear in October this year. Windhorse director Priyananda reports.

The recent Order weekend in celebration of Sangharakshita’s 90th birthday was a great success - thank you all who came and participated and helped to create such a wonderful gathering.
