Welcome to Shrewsbury Triratna Buddhist Centre

The Triratna Buddhist Community in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is part of an international Buddhist movement with its origins in the UK. Originally founded in 1967 as the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order, the movement was renamed the Triratna Buddhist Community in 2010. To find out more, take a look at the Who? page.

The Shrewsbury Group was started in 2003 as part of an outreach project from the Birmingham Buddhist centre. Since then the group has grown into a flourishing Sangha (Buddhist spiritual community) with about 40 active members from across Shropshire, including several members of the Triratna Buddhist Order who teach Buddhism and meditation at our regular group meetings. To find out more, please go to the "Who?" page. The group meets every Wednesday evening at 7.30 pm, and there is a drop-in meditation class for newcomers which meets at the same time.
