'In Harmony with Friends and Companions'

From Padmaloka Retreat Centre on Thu, 27 May, 2021 - 00:00
Through looking closely at 'In harmony with friends and companions' Vidyadaka explores the conditions for disharmony, and talks about envy and miserliness. We need to overcome these two unskilful mental states in order to discover harmony and to keep the pathway open to the dharma. By developing kindly speech and generosity we discover that a deep harmony can arise which is symbolized by the 1000 Armed, 11 headed Avalokitesvara.

‘…today we are celebrating the Buddha’s attainment of Enlightenment, which is to say that we’re celebrating the Buddha’s transformation from an unenlightened to an Enlightened, a fully Enlightened, a supremely Enlightened, being. We’re celebrating his realization of, we may say, the ultimate truth and reality of things. We’re celebrating his becoming the object of refuge for all living beings.
