The Triratna Translations Project aims to translate the main texts and ceremonies used in the Triratna Buddhist Community into as many of the world’s languages as possible. With the translation of the Threefold Puja into Burmese it’s reached its 30th language. (This short puja was written by Bhante long ago, for the Finnish sangha, who found the Sevenfold Puja too elaborate.
It’s an ambitious project, but Lokabandhu, the project’s online co-ordinator says “We’re a worldwide community and between us...
Written a few thousand pounds back (when we were 50% there), this is a great Triratna News report on the fundraising for Bhante’s birthday present. Amalavajra, Triratna’s fundraiser in Europe, explains his enthusiasm.
Manchester Buddhist Centre’s exhibition: “Sangharakshita: a life in pictures” opens on 17th August, with pictures from the Clear Vision archive. They write: “To mark this special occasion, a set of framed photos showing Sangharakshita’s life in its breadth and fullness will go on display in the Centre’s reception area. It will then be sited more permanently within the building.” Find out more.

Our FBA Dharmabyte today is from Vajratara entitled: “Ksitigarbha’s Jewel.” If you really want to have everything, the teaching of Ksitigarbha is not to just give you what you want, but rather to help you change your mind. That state of mind is the bodhicitta, the heart-mind of enlightenment. From the talk, “Ksitigarbha” given by Vajratara at Sangha Night, Sheffield Buddhist Centre (2nd May 2006), as part of a series on the Refuge...
This week’s FBA Podcast is “Breaking the Bonds of Selfhood Through Serving the Dhamma (with translation in Hindi)” by Parami. This excerpt is lovely harmonic chanting of the Manjushri (Manjugosha) mantra.
Listen to the full puja – it’s unusual to hear these rituals performed in Sanskrit and English, so a real treat for all ritual lovers courtesy of...
