Our unique Buddha Fields @the WLBC

From Buddhist Action on Thu, 28 Jun, 2018 - 16:37

We held a small but perfectly formed event last Saturday afternoon, where two West London sangha members talked about aspects of their practice off the cushion and out in the world. One person talked about how their increasing commitment to veganism felt like an expression of metta /love in their lives, and the second presentation included the showing of this moving documentary about an international charitable project which they saw as part of their spiritual practice. Dharmabyte: Chittamatra (Mind Only)

From Free Buddhist Audio on Thu, 28 Jun, 2018 - 14:54

This FBA Dharmabyte is called Chittamatra (‘Mind-Only’) from the talk The Depth Psychology of the Yogachara by Sangharakshita.

The Yogachara School of Indian Mahayana Buddhism and its doctrine of ‘Mind-Only’ (Chittamatra) crucially influenced the development of Zen. Here the doctrine is related to subjective and absolute idealism in Western philosophy.

This talk was given in 1967 and is part of the series Aspects of Buddhist Psychology.
