As most of you know the situation in India is again becoming desperate.
This second wave of COVID-19 is spreading faster; infection rates are more than double than at the previous peak and health facilities are being overwhelmed. Night curfews and local lockdowns are still paralysing many states, with devastating consequences for migrant workers. As before, it is the most vulnerable and marginalised people suffering most.
We want things to be different, that is the force that drives growth but can also be a source of pain. How does the Dharma help us relate to our experience, including the difficult aspects, and help us transform those difficulties into wisdom.
I’m delighted to let you know that ten more women have been invited to a second ordination retreat led from Taraloka, 10 - 24th May. The retreat will be online but the private ordinations will be in-person from various locations to comply with covid guidelines.
All going well, the public ordinations will be at Taraloka, 23rd May, conducted by Subhadramati.

On April 4th we celebrated 53 years of the Order. During our weekly Bodhicitta Practice that week, Paramartha kindly gave a short talk about the practice and the Order’s anniversary, which you can re-watch here.

It is sad to inform you that Dhammachari Prasannamitra passed away on 20th April 2021 around 5.00 am. He was 53 years old. His funeral took place today from his home. For some years the doctor has diagnosed that due to some infection his liver was damaged and he was taking treatment. Recently he found coronavirus positive and due to this pandemic, it was difficult to get proper treatment.
