The Opening of Urgyen House to Visitors

Last weekend at Adhisthana, Urgyen House was opened to visitors with a moving dedication led by Saddhanandi. Two new Order Members, Āryaniśa and Vilāsamuni, cut the ribbon to open the house officially.

The place is significant, as it was Urgyen Sangharakshita’s home for the last 5 years of his life. His bedroom and living room have been left exactly as they were the day he died. His living room was where he met hundreds (if not thousands) of visitors in his last years,...

This year at Padmaloka we have hosted two Ordination retreats so far, and in just under two weeks we will be starting a third, where sixteen men will be going forth from their previous identities and lives and stepping into the world of the Dharmachariya and the Triratna Buddhist Order.

In mid-2019, the Sikkha Project asked as many Order Members as possible (outside of India) to fill in the first Order Practice questionnaire.  The aim of Sikkha is to strengthen our spiritual practice and training at all levels, and this questionnaire was our first step in clarifying how we practise in the Order, seeing what is helpful and what might support a flourishing practice and Order.
