Dear Friends,

The Memorial Service for Ratnachuda will be held at 2pm on the 16th August at the premises for the Brixton Triratna Buddhist Group at Effra Space, 21 Effra Parade, SW2 1PX. It is not far from the Brixton Water Lane entrance to Brockwell Park.

If you would like to attend, please arrive at 2pm for a 2:30pm start. We have the space until 6 pm. Refreshments will be served during that time. Please...

We are pleased to announce that the following three men will soon be ordained on the ‘System of Dharma Life’ retreat at Padmaloka, which begins on 11th July.

The Public Ordination ceremony will take place on 24th July, with Vidyadaka as Public Preceptor to all three men.

Dear Order members,

I am very sad to tell you that our dear friend Moksacara, (registered spelling Mokshachara) who is part of the Cambridge UK Sangha, has now died, aged 75.  She was diagnosed last August with pancreatic cancer. She died in the care home where she has been for the past week, at 1.30 am on Thursday 3rd July, and her sister Judith was with her. Mindfulness: The Undiscovered Foundations

In this post I want to share the ‘theoretical heart’ of my book on mindfulness. By bringing together the teaching of Conditionality with the four satipatthanas, we can hopefully see clearly how the whole system works without any need for a ‘self’ behind it. Mindfulness is brought to bear on the four satipatthanas to turn them from being sources of suffering to being sources of happiness, with that happiness manifesting on higher levels of skilfulness, up to the ‘bliss of Nirvana.’
