About the event
We love our Buddhist myths! So many amazing stories, superhero Bodhisattvas, a rainbow of colors, qualities, and inspiring images to help us understand the deeply transformational nature of the Dharma. And… Sometimes it’s fun just to bring our own heroes and stories with us from whichever culture we’ve learned in life so far. So, we present Mythic Dress-Up Sangha Time! A new kind of event for 2022…

If you’ve ever: wanted to be Wonder Woman, built a shrine to Thor with action figures, wished others could see the connection between Jizo and Gandalf, the White Goddess and White Tara, Darth Vader and the Great Protectors… This one’s for you.

What to expect
We’ll be hosted by the wonderful Dharmashalin and Suryadarshini, supported by Sanghadhara, Zac, and the team at The Buddhist Centre Online.

Come for the cosplay, stay for the talks and meditation on how we can make use of all sorts of figures and myths to light up our practice and our Dharma life. And the chance to connect with others doing the same: like you, different from you, one big community of the heart and imagination.

Event guidelines
– You’re welcome to come dressed in character, without judgement! You can stay in character or break, whichever you prefer.

– You totally don’t need to dress-up! If that’s not your comfort-zone, feel free to set a Zoom background that evokes your own mythic speed.

– And if you just want to come and listen quietly to the mythic explorations, that’s cool too.

Bring your inner whoever, whatever, however—and let’s make a great family tree of inspiration, sangha-wide!
