Young Buddhists retreats started back in 2008 in response to a dwindling number of young people joining our community. The first one was a small event for both young and old people exploring how we could inspire more young people in the Dharma - out of which the Young Buddhist project emerged.
From 2009 Young Buddhists retreats were led by young people for young people, and they have gained in size and momentum, like the whole Young Buddhists project, every year. The 4th Young Buddhists retreat was a memorable year with out first "Big One" retreats with 130 young people gathered at a boarding school called Smallwood Manor, in the UK, exploring how to generate energy for Enlightenment! Our BIG retreats now run every autumn, hosted at Adhisthana, Triratna's retreat centre in Herefordshire, UK.
