The newly rebuilt Vajrasana Retreat Centre is now fully open and running a large programme of retreats. There is an on-site residential community of Dharmachari’s (Abhayavajra, Jnanaruchi and Saddhaketu) and an opportunity to join this team has become available.


The LBC is now inviting expressions of interest from any male Order member or experienced GFR Mitra who would be interested in living and working at Vajrasana.

Two years ago the London Buddhist Centre (LBC) demolished most of Vajrasana, its much loved retreat centre in Suffolk. After a huge redevelopment, the centre ceremonially reopened in May. Watch the ceremony highlights.

Saturday the 28th & Sunday the 29th May
After five years of planning and two years of building work, the new retreat centre is finally opening with a weekend of special events. Both days feature tours of the building and a ritual dedication of the centre. The Public Opening on the 28th will include introductions to meditation and a talk by the architects, while the Sangha Opening on the 29th will focus around an opening ritual led by Subhuti.

Job Opportunities at Vajrasana

The expanded centre will require a team of three to live together in the new community accommodation, and run the centre on a day-to-day basis. Abhayavajra is planning to continue living at Vajrasana after the completion of the building, helping set up the community.
