By Windhorse Publi... on Thu, 12 May, 2022 - 10:03

Today we take a look at the last of the volumes of the Complete Works of Sangharakshita to come out in July this year. Volume 26 is called Aphorisms, the Arts, and Late Writings, and it was edited by the seemingly indefatigable Vidyadevi.

Publishing this volume is cause to celebrate the arts in Triratna, so in the Community Highlights section, we’ll point you to two recent self-published books around Buddhism and the arts, from paintings to poetry and beyond.

The Opening of Urgyen House to Visitors

By suryanaga on Thu, 26 Aug, 2021 - 15:46

Last weekend at Adhisthana, Urgyen House was opened to visitors with a moving dedication led by Saddhanandi. Two new Order Members, Āryaniśa and Vilāsamuni, cut the ribbon to open the house officially.

The place is significant, as it was Urgyen Sangharakshita’s home for the last 5 years of his life. His bedroom and living room have been left exactly as they were the day he died. His living room was where he met hundreds (if not thousands) of visitors in his last years,...

Friendship: Duty, Delight and Freedom

By Maitriyogini on Sat, 17 Apr, 2021 - 12:50

What kind of friend are you? What kind of friend would you like to be?

Is there any limitation to the heights that faithful friendship can reach?

Explore the possibilities of friendship with brothers and sisters in the sangha, through looking at traditional understandings of friendship in society and the spiritual life.

We will draw primarily on The Duties of Brotherhood in Islam seminar, with supporting material from the seminar on the Sigalavada Sutta. Both texts were studied by Sangharakshita in 1983. With The Duties of Brotherhood in Islam, he took...
