Sangha Nights: January 2013
Join us for Sangha Nights, Wednesday evenings, 7 - 9 pm. Beginning with a meditation (guidance and support available for those who would like it) followed by a presentation and discussion on Buddhist study and/or practice.

January 2 New Year Meditation and Ceremony — An evening to enjoy meditation and a simple, inspiring ceremony to set the tone for the new year!

January 9 Going for Refuge —It is called the fundamental act of Buddhist practice. What does it mean and how is it expressed in daily life?

Due to cancellation due to snow last week, we'll be adjusting the schedule as follows:

January 23 Faith in Buddhist Practice — There is no god central to Buddhism, yet faith is counted as a valued spiritual faculty. What is the role of faith in Buddhist practice? What does one have faith in?

January 30 Introduction to Buddhist Ritual: The Sevenfold Puja — A look at the origin and meaning of the primary devotional text used in the Triratna Buddhist Community.

Our Sangha Nights are offered freely and are open to anyone interested in learning more about how to practice Buddhism and meditation, or to engage with others to deepen their existing practices. The class is free although we do ask for a sliding scale donation, suggested at $5 - 10 for the evening. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please let us know.
