Dear friends in the Dharma,

An ordination retreat is currently being held at Sudarshanaloka Retreat Centre, Aotearoa, New Zealand. 

Four women will be ordained on the retreat:
Marian Patrizio and Annette Balsillie from Auckland, and Lisa Kelly and Tomoko Bruce from Thames.

Their private ordinations will take place on 25-26 March and their public ordinations will take place on 1 April.

Hello,

I have been in contact with Coff’s Harbour Police, who have advised me that Vikaca is believed to have had a heart attack whilst surfing today. He had drowned, but was revived with CPR. He is in a critical condition in hospital.

We believe that he has only one relative, a sister; but we do not know how to contact her.

Please bear Vikaca in meditation. I will inform...

We have just received the sad news that Matisvara died this morning New Zealand time, Friday 11 March 2022, at a rest home in Auckland, New Zealand. He was 90 years old.  His daughter Miriam was with him and his son Gil was on a video link from India.

Matisvara was publicly ordained by Sona at the Auckland Buddhist Centre on 29 Jan 2000. Sona was also his private preceptor.
