Working for Buddhafield is a unique opportunity to work within a Buddhist framework, to grow and develop your practice and to contribute to our vibrant community and vision. It is also an opportunity to learn what it is to work within an alternative organisational structure called the Buddhafield Mandate System. It is based on sociocratic self organising principles. Most people work for Buddhafield as volunteers.
Punyamala explores the Buddhist teachings of impermanence and shares reflections on how to live with the fact of death, using her recent experience of death. Excerpted from the talk entitled Impermanence of This Body given at Taraloka Retreat Centre, 2015, on a mitra retreat called Reflection: A Path of Wisdom and is the Second in a series of four talks given on the four reminders.
Ratnaghosha commemorates the death of the Buddha not by focusing on death, but rather by focusing on the Buddha’s early life and the myriad manifestations of impermanence. Talk given by Ratnaghosha at the London Buddhist Centre’s Parinirvana Day Festival, 2008.

It seems appropriate — although not straightforward — to be writing about the subject of loving kindness in the context of my work.
Of course, it is deeply appropriate, because the sector I work for embodies human altruism. Most organizations like mine — the International Rescue Committee — have profound roots in the same human desire...
Starting in a warm bubble, like a womb, I find ways to see deeply into how I belong. I recollect how the Buddha must have felt when touching the earth to receive her recognition. I imagine he sees that her breath is one and the same as his breath.
I take that sense of safety and belonging as a way to deepen my appreciation of impermanence and all it teaches me, like how this precious sense of connection is available to me...
