From Community Highlights on Sun, 4 Aug, 2013 - 12:25This morning, around 11am, we saw the first arrivals at Adhisthana of about 250 Friends, mitras and Order members from all over Britain, and further afield, to add to those Order members who stayed on from yesterday. We also saw the arrival of torrential rain.
Just before the crowds arrived, I took a walk around the village, a mile (less than 2km) away. It’s a rural area and the village, with fewer than 100 residents, includes one or two...

You can see them all here on the shrine designed by Vidyatara using very authentic local building materials! Bhante’s rupa is the tiny one in the large Buddha’s lap.

The challenge facing your faithful reporting team - Lokabandhu, Ivan Trujillo and me - is best summed up in a message that appeared on my computer screen this morning: “Downloading 6 files. 14 hours remaining.”
The Order’s Dedication Ceremony of Adhisthana, led by Parami, with chanting of the Refuges and Ten Precepts, plus the Avalokitesvara and Bodhicitta Mantras. The ceremony was preceded by a talk from Dhammarati in which he rejoiced and thanked the many people involved in the project - this will be posted separately…
