Our weekly gatherings on Mondays are an opportunity to meditate with others and learn about Buddhism and Buddhist practice. In December we’ll be reading and discussing some favorite stories from the life of the Buddha. The early Buddhist canon is full of rich tales and teachings that are always vital and sometimes quite humorous!

All are welcome – suitable for all levels of experience! By donation, $10-$5 suggested.

Two Triratna Order members are among to the contributors to Lotus Petals in the Snow, the first anthology of writings by Canadian Buddhist women: scholars, practitioners, Dharma students, teachers, nuns and laywomen, launched last week.

Aryadhrishti is Canadian and runs the Triratna centre in Portland, USA. She writes about Karma as a spiritual practice of evolution and escape. 

Vimalasara, born Black British, recently became an African Canadian and is Chair of Vancouver’s thriving Triratna centre.  She writes about...

Continuing our Triratna News mini-series marking the COP21 climate change talks in Paris, more news of climate change actions from around the Triratna world. 

Dublin Buddhist Centre, in Ireland, released their Statement on Human-Caused Global Warming today. Last week, we hear, Triratna individuals were among those staging a ritual inside the British Museum, as part of the Art, not Oil coalition’s opposition to BP’s (British Petroleum) sponsorship of several British arts institutions.

Sorting ourselves out at a fundamental level is an art. The more I practice meditation in an effort to know myself and to know myself in relation to others the more I see how much there is to know.


Meditation and the support of like-minded friends gradually allows me to see through the layers of my conditioning and take responsibility for my place in life.

Bristol joins growing list of "sustainable centres"

Triratna’s Sustainable Buddhist Centre certification scheme is growing and growing, and it’s burst out of Britain! The Dutch sanghas in Amsterdam and at Metta Vihara Retreat Centre are among 10 centres certified so far, with two more pending. (See list below.)
