The next volume to be published (in March) is The Rainbow Road from Tooting Broadway to Kalimpong. Subscriptions for the whole set

Violence and Non-Violence

From Croydon Buddhist Centre on Wed, 28 Dec, 2016 - 00:00
This talk was given by Vijayasri as a follow up to a showing of Sangharakshita's video on Buddhism, world peace and nuclear war. Vijayasri explores the concepts of violence and non-violence as aspects of the power mode / love mode relationship, and looks at the Jungian concept of the shadow. We examine the idea that change is possible, but that growth and development requires personal effort, using quotes from Sangharakshita, Jung and President Obama. Vijayasri concludes that one of the ways in which we can change the world is by teaching the Metta Bhavana to as many people as possible. This talk was given at the Croydon Buddhist Centre in 2016 as part of our regular Saturday morning sangha class.

I have just heard from Paramartha who is with Bhante today in the hospital. He tells me that Bhante got some sleep last night and his blood pressure and temperature continue to be fine. He says that Bhante certainly looks a little better with each day & has more colour in his cheeks.  Consultants do their rounds tomorrow so we will know more then, hopefully including when Bhante might get home. Resignation of Akashavanda

From Order Connection on Tue, 20 Dec, 2016 - 17:22

Dear Order Members,

Dharmacharini Akashavanda, from Maine, USA, has written to me as her Public Preceptor to inform me that she is resigning from the Triratna Buddhist Order.  I was sad to accept her resignation but it is clear that she will remain a praticising Buddhist and leaves with well wishing and gratitude to what she has gained from her time in Triratna.

Akashavanda was ordained in September 2008 at Akashavana and her Private Preceptor was Dayalocana. Her resignation letter is included below.

With metta,
