Clear Vision reports from Triratna's 8th Young Buddhist retreat in October at Adhisthana, UK. Young Order members, Friends and Mitras explain the importance of these events and rejoice in their friendships. They also say goodbye to Singhamati, stepping down as the European Chairs' Assembly's (ECA) part-time Young People's Co-ordinator.

As she explains, it all began with the first weekend for young people, in 2008, at which some old people were also present, "trying to be young people". (Yeah, thanks, Singhamati!) What she doesn't say is what exactly she has done in the job. So let me rejoice in my former colleague in the ECA's Development Team. In about a year and a half, preceded by some research before she even started the job, she has:

• supported 73 local Young Facilitators to develop the skills and confidence to lead events for approximately 1,000 under-35s in their centres around Europe.
• organised more than 10 retreats around Europe, the biggest being a weekend at Adhisthana attracting over 100 young people and
• developed new activities for under-25s including a retreat at Adhisthana for 40 people.

And, as I said, it was a part-time job. Impressive! The great work continues with the recent appointment of the ECA's new full-time Young People’s Co-ordinator, Prajnaketu, from Oxford, UK, who is welcomed in the video.
