The MEBC has been in existence since 2015 and we moved into our new premises in April 2023.

It was a real pleasure to see so many friends at our Grand Opening in Chelmsford on 24th September.

Āryasāra, our current chair invited Vanarājī, the previous Chair to cut the red ribbon and officially opened the Centre.

We are very grateful to Mahamati who dedicated the Centre to the three Jewels and treated us with a wonderful talk around Sangharakshita’s poem: the Four gifts.

The day ended joyfully transferring merits and we all reconvene under the marquee for tea and scrumptious vegan cake.

All at the Mid Essex are grateful to the worldwide Sangha for their support and generosity in donations, thus making the Centre building a reality.

After 5 years in rented buildings that we have now outgrown, we are planning a secure home for our community in our own property. We are almost in a position to go ahead with buying a Centre. We are still short of funds to secure a property.
