About the role
We’re looking to recruit developers who care about the people and the business they work for and most importantly care about writing good code. Because no-one likes rubbish code, right?
Have you got what it takes to propel our business forward? We’re looking for people who have proven experience within the field of PHP development (at least 3 years working in a commercial environment), with specific reference to Open Source Content Management Systems. Our main areas of interest are Joomla and Mautic
We expect that you will have a strong track record with
- PHP, MySQL and HTML/CSS, LESS or other pre-processors
- Javascript
We expect you to have an understanding of
- Gulp, Phing, Selenium and related technologies

- Experience of contributing to Open Source projects

Working with us
We have a pretty clear development process set up, so we need people who are willing to learn that process and help us improve it. Exposure to Agile methodology would be great and an urge to automate as much as possible to allow you to get on with the stuff that really matters. We use the Atlassian suite of tools, so experience with them would be very beneficial.
You will be expected to support junior members of the development team with their professional development. We have an established apprenticeship programme which currently has an intake of 1-2 per year. Once you are settled into the role, we hope you will play a part in their training programme. We can provide support to help you develop your leadership and mentoring skills if required.
We take part in events regularly as a company, attending conferences and holding events locally, of which you will be invited to join in with.
As part of your personal improvement plan, you will be expected to regularly set yourself achievable goals and show us how you’re meeting them. You will be responsible to our CTO and will have regular reviews to assess your goals and to identify how we can help you develop professionally and personally.
If you show us that you have an interest, passion and drive to succeed, we will give you the opportunities to get involved in some cool stuff, such as attending conferences around the world, developing new products we will be bringing to market and, if you’re up for the challenge, lead and grow your own team. You won’t be bored, that’s for sure.
We actively support Open Source communities, and encourage our team to contribute in whatever way they are able. We will also support your involved with the Triratna Coding Kula if you wish to give back to the movement by helping support its technical infrastructure.
The fine print
You will be working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. We operate flexible working policies, so we can discuss options if you need flexibility.
If you choose to work remotely (no more than +/- 3 hours from UK timezone will be considered), we will require you attend the office in Ipswich a minimum of one week in four as part of our company policy for remote working. You may need to attend occasional networking events and meetings with customers.

Our salary scheme operates on a dana basis of ‘give what you can, take what you need’ - we are flexible on the annual salary.
