The core team at Guhyaloka right now is myself, Vidyasiddhi and Dridhakarin. After more than a year, Dayajina will be leaving us at the end of November to return to Germany. So we are looking for an Order member (or Order members) to come and join us. There are various options. Ideally for us we would like someone to come and join us full time and stay for a couple of years or more. What also works well is people coming out for shorter periods. This could be for a month in February next year to cook for the working retreat or for the duration of the course (April to July).

As well as a cook we also have a vacancy for a guest master / housekeeper. Again we are looking for an Order member and again would consider people joining us for short periods as well as staying more longer term.

Please do consider joining us. If you would like to know more then please do contact me at maniraja@mac.com

Today was a delightful day here at Guhyaloka. The community began the day at 9 this morning setting up for the Public Ordinations. Two things needed to happen. One was to make sure we had plenty of food and refreshments to see us through the day. The second was to set up the shrine room. Ahead of schedule the conch was blown and the  Public Ordinations could begin. As Maitreyabandhu said. What better way could we celebrate Buddha Day. Pictures of the new Order members are up on Facebook . The private preceptors will be leaving us tomorrow. The retreat will then settle down to a closed three month Order retreat.

Working Retreat - 2015
This years work retreat is well underway. The program has been worked on over the years and the current one seems to work very well. We work four mornings followed by a silent practice day and then an unstructured day. The evenings are put aside for study and puja and we have mediations in the mornings before breakfast and in the afternoon before supper. This year Vajrasiddhi and his son Chris have been working in the forest felling trees. Some of the guys have been painting and working on El Morer and the solitaries. The rest of us have been working our way down the track to clear the undergrowth and reduce some of the risk the retreat centre would face if there was a fire. Next week we will be joined by a group of men from the LBC.
