On Saturday I led a workshop for the Seattle and Vancouver sanghas (originally intended to be a weekend retreat) on cultivating dhyana. In it I present a three-fold approach to cultivating the dhyana factors (or a slightly modified form of that list) which seems quite reliably to help most regular meditators to get close to, or in to, first dhyana.
The feedback was very positive, and a lot of people who'd been meditating for a long time seemed to be making strides forward.
The video's a bit long, at something like 5 hours and 40 minutes, but there's a reasonable chance you have a lot of time on your hands at the moment, so why not pull up a cushion, make yourself comfortable, and join in with the fun!
I'd love to hear how you get on.
Love,
Bodhipaksa
