For June the Cardiff sangha will be holding a series of events to support Buddhist Action Month 2016. There will be talks and activities to focus our hearts and minds on caring for others.
Tues 31st May - 'Proceeding as though you are necessary’ - Launch of BAM 2016 at Cardiff Buddhist Centre - led by Bec
Tues 7th June – ‘Altruism in the Spiritual Life’ - led by Lynda
Tues 14th June - ‘The Journey of Metta’ - led by Medi and Matt
Tues 21st June - 'An Evening of Compassion' - led by Kath
Friday 24th June – Film Night: Dead Man Walking
Tues 28th June – 'The Worldly Winds, the Buddha and Me' - An evening with Vajragupta
Other BAM activities
There will also be other events going on at the centre through June as part of BAM 2016:
- Cardiff Buddhist centre becoming vegan for June
- A visit to a local substance-misuse charity spending time talking to service users about Buddhist practice and offering meditation lessons.
- Volunteering and encouraging others to volunteer and the installation of a 'volunteers board' at the centre
- Collecting for the local Foodbank and Dogs Trust
- Practising a '5 minute intervention' with others
- Helping to cherish the environment by using flowers from our own gardens when decorating the shrine
